AIR FORCE EXPERIMENTAL OPERATIONS UNIT

The Air Force Experimental Operations Unit (EOU) is central to the military's current emphasis on drone technology. The unit was formally activated as a full squadron-equivalent in June 2025 at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, after operating as a detachment since 2023. The EOU plays a critical role in the Air Force's Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program, which represents one of the service's top modernization priorities.
