DRONE BRIGADES IN THE ARMY RESERVE

Drone Brigades in the U.S. Army Reserve is currently a proposed concept rather than an established formation. Proposed drone brigades would conduct reconnaissance, strike targets, resupply isolated units, and protect power projection infrastructure, with citizen soldiers operating unmanned systems.
The concept draws inspiration from lessons learned in Ukraine, where drones are responsible for over 70 percent of casualties and have proven critical for reconnaissance, strike, resupply, medical evacuation, and close combat missions. The idea is to transform Army Reserve soldiers into specialized drone operators who can rapidly deploy unmanned capabilities.
