The field is rapidly evolving toward operational deployment, with upcoming demonstrations planned for early 2026 to test systems against swarms of up to 50 drones, including both fixed-wing and rotary-wing platforms The focus is shifting from pure research to integration challenges, cost optimization, and developing tactics for contested environments.
