NATO PREPARATION FOR DRONE WARFARE

NATO has been updating its concepts to address unmanned systems and autonomous weapons — including work on AI, C-UAS (counter-UAS) doctrine, and alliance-level guidance for integrating unmanned systems into operations.  Allied exercises increasingly include counter-drone and unmanned-system scenarios. NATO and the European Union are coordinating on “drone-wall” and broader anti-drone efforts; several Allies (e.g., Germany) are making large investments in drones and air/anti-drone defense, reinforcing NATO’s capability base.
