OPPORTUNISTIC RESILIENT NETWORK TOPOLOGIES (ORIENT)

ORIENT is currently a major component of the Pentagon's Replicator drone swarm initiative, with the Defense Innovation Unit awarding contracts in November 2024 to four companies - Viasat, Aalyria, Higher Ground, and IoT/AI - to develop this technology. 
ORIENT focuses on building resilient command and control solutions for multi-domain autonomous platforms operating in disconnected, denied, intermittent, and low-bandwidth (DDIL) communications environments. The technology is designed to address a critical challenge: ensuring communications for drones in heavy electromagnetic warfare environments.
