UKRAINIAN DRONE MANUFACTURING 2025
Ukraine has achieved remarkable transformation in drone manufacturing capabilities since Russia's 2022 invasion, emerging as the world's largest producer of drones in the Western-aligned world. The country's domestic production has scaled from seven (7) manufacturers before the invasion to approximately 500 by 2025. Ukrainian forces are now producing 2.5-3 million drones annually, with monthly output reaching 200,000 units as of January 2025.
Five main categories dominate Ukrainian drone production: FPV attack drones ($300-500 cost, 15-20 km range), long-range strike drones including the Peklo system (700 km range, 700 km/h speed), reconnaissance UAVs with advanced AI integration, interceptor drones for air defense, and ground robotic systems for logistics support.
The introduction of over 20 new certified fiber-optic drone models in 2025 represents a critical technological advancement, providing immunity to electronic warfare jamming. Ukraine maintains 96.2% domestic production of all UAVs used by its armed forces, demonstrating strategic independence from foreign supply chains.
