U. S. TRAINING OF DRONE TECHNICIANS

The U.S. military has rapidly expanded drone technician training programs across all service branches to address modern warfare demands.  Each service maintains distinct training approaches, military occupational specialties, and certification pathways. The Army leads with comprehensive new programs including the Unmanned Advanced Lethality Course at Fort Rucker. The Air Force operates dedicated Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) maintenance programs with specific Air Force Specialty Codes (AFSC). The Navy uses Navy Enlisted Classifications (NECs) and is establishing a new Robotics Warfare Specialist rating. The Marines maintain MOS 6314 for UAS technicians.
